Derrick Riviere is pleased to welcome all the early morning risers to his Saturday Morning Praise Radio Show on 1390AM in Rocky Mount, NC. Derrick Riviere is a native Dominican currently residing in Creedmoor, North Carolina.  Now at the age of 27, he has  been blessed to host a gospel radio show.  Derrick had always wanted to have his own radio show and his vision was to be a sports radio show host.  What he wanted however, was not necessarily what God had destined for him.  God certainly had greater plans for Derrick. He wanted Derrick to be a medium to reach out to His people, to tell them about His grace, mercy and what an awesome wonder He is.

Derrick relocated from Dominica to Baltimore, MD in 1988 when he was  eight years old.  Derrick graduated from Northern High School in Baltimore in 1998 and joined the United States Marine Corp in 1999. Derrick served his country for four years going through boot camp in Paris Island, South Carolina after which he was stationed Cherry Point, NC. His spent his last year in the Marine Corp in Okinawa, Japan. Derrick always had a strong interest in the area of communications and during his last year in Japan, his desire to be a radio host grew stronger. After serving his four years, he received an honorable discharge and began to pursue his dreams. Derrick relocated to North Carolina in May of 2006 to be closer to his then fiancé now wife. Derrick always had a desire to move back to North Carolina after the time he spent there in the military and without his knowledge God’s plan was in motion.

Derrick has been on the air playing gospel music and reading scriptures to his morning listeners since August 4^th, 2007. His show started off with him playing a myriad of gospel songs for fours hours, but has developed in to a show that encourages all who listen, with scriptures and topics to help with their daily trials and tribulations.

Derrick also loves to play music of independent gospel artists because he believes if you are praising the Lord then you need to be heard. Many independent artists know that getting in contact with Derrick can get there music played. According to Derrick "we always wonder how we will accomplish task and over come, but we must always  remember that if God brought us to it, he will bring us through it." God constantly gives Derrick the inspiration and wisdom needed to reach out to his people with encouraging words and songs of praise. Saturday Morning Praise is also helping independent artists.  Derrick  reaches out to aspiring gospel artists to aid them in their spiritual journey. He helps to promote their music by conducting interviews and playing their songs on the air. He also plays their musical selections on air during his program.

Derrick Riviere has devoted his life to serving God in his community and makes a special effort to attend various events organized by the youth in the community.  God is truly working in Derrick’s life and is raising him up to leave a mark on his community by mentoring youth and helping independent artists to get their music heard. When asked about his acomplishments Derrick humbly replies" I give all praises and glory to God for my success. We must all remember with God at the helm of our ship we will never be steered wrong."
